Application Details: Partial Demolition, Alterations and Redevelopment for General Retail and Hire, Food Services and 33 Multiple Dwellings (Re-Advertised – Amended Proposal).
This planning application proposes the construction of a new building containing 33 apartments of one, two and three bedroom layouts as well as ground level commercial tenancies containing either general retail or food services uses. It proposes to retain the façade of the site’s existing Art Deco building, with the new building featuring a stepped design extending to a maximum of ten storeys, with multiple terraces and balconies for the apartments. The application proposes to utilise the existing access to create a shared entrance to a central open arcade containing the commercial tenancies, a resident’s entry, five bicycle parks and three car parking spaces for the use of commercial tenancies. This re-advertised proposal presents relatively minor variations to the design and layout of the previously advertised proposal.
