The City of Hobart engaged Seed Consulting to undertake an extensive engagement process for the review of the Hobart Climate Change Strategy x 5, 2013.
The engagement process was based on the following activities:
Written public submissions on two background papers – Responding to Climate Change and Managing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Direct input through a Your Say Hobart survey
Workshops with stakeholder groups including residents, community groups, researchers/technical and youth
Consultation with major stakeholders
Engagement with local primary schools though the Climate Conversations HobArt project
Discussions and workshops with City of Hobart elected members and employees
Feedback during the engagement process supported the City of Hobart’s status as a leader in climate change response and found that it had excelled in:
Climate governance and planning
Waste management
Energy management
A copy of the report can be found here. This feedback has been incorporated into the development of the Draft Sustainable Hobart Action Plan.
Come and visit the student climate artwork at the Hobart Council Centre and while you are there please contribute further by writing up your thoughts and ideas and leave them in the onsite collection box.
