Community Engagement Review

Consultation has concluded

At its September meeting, the Hobart City Council unanimously endorsed a new Community Engagement Policy and Community Engagement Framework. The documents were developed to reflect IAP2 best practice and the views and aspirations of the Hobart community and City of Hobart staff.

A summary of the engagement results can be found in the Engagement Summary Report. If you would like to read the report considered by Council, this can be found on the September Council Agenda (Item 17).

To make the Framework and Policy a reality, the City is now developing a Community Engagement Toolkit which will provide staff with practical guidance, tools and templates to incorporate engagement into City of Hobart projects.

Background

The City of Hobart is undertaking a review of how we involve the community in planning and decision making.

We are seeking feedback on the City’s community engagement activities - what is working well, what could be improved and how you think the City should be involving you or your organisation in decisions that affect you.

For the purpose of this review we consider anyone with an interest in the City of Hobart as a stakeholder. So whether you live, work, study, visit or own a business in the City - we want to hear from you!

Your input will shape an updated Community Engagement Framework and Policy and guide how the City engages the community in decision making.
