Four-year review of the Capital City Strategic Plan 2019-2029

The City of Hobart is currently seeking community feedback on the draft Capital City Strategic Plan. You can download the draft plan from the Documents section on the right hand side of the screen, or find it at this link.

The Capital City Strategic Plan is the City of Hobart’s major planning document. It responds to and reflects the community’s values and aspirations as expressed in the Community Vision – Hobart: A community vision for our island capital.

The Strategic Plan is a partner document to the Community Vision. It is designed to deliver on the Community Vision by guiding the development of long-term strategies and plans, set priorities and frame decision making.

The Strategic Plan will map our journey of:

  • Where we are now
  • Where do we want to be in 10 years
  • How will we get there
  • How will we know we’ve arrived

The Local Government Act 1993 requires that all councils have a ten-year strategic plan and that it be reviewed at least every four years. The Capital City Strategic Plan 2019-29 was endorsed by the Council in September 2019 and is now being reviewed.
