Long Beach Reserve, Lower Sandy Bay - Proposed Toilet and Outdoor Gym Equipment

Consultation has concluded

Thank you for your participation in these projects. We were so glad to see your responses and have read all of your submissions and can now provide a final engagement report for both the toilets and outdoor gym equipment.

With regard to the toilet relocation, a report was submitted to Council on 16 December 2019 and the project has been approved to proceed with the plans provided. The next step will be to lodge a Development Application which will likely take place in February 2020.

With regard to the outdoor gym equipment, this project has not been put to Council yet. We will let you know when it is on the agenda.

The City of Hobart is planning an upgrade of the public amenities located within Long Beach Reserve, Lower Sandy Bay. A concept design has been developed and we would like to hear your thoughts regarding the building design and it's location.

The new toilet block will replace the older facilities on the corner of Long Point Road and Beach Road. The new amenities will be built in a safer location, closer to the playground.

The City is also proposing to install outdoor exercise equipment at Long Beach Reserve. This high quality fitness hub would offer a range of activities including stationary equipment for cross and circuit training, movable part stations for cardio and strength as well as stations designed for older people and people with disability.

The City is currently seeking feedback from the community, including local residents, businesses and regular visitors to the area. We want to know the types of equipment you would like to see installed and your views on some possible locations.

Get involved and have your say in the following ways:

The Survey closes on Thursday 31 October 2019

A listening post is when the City of Hobart officers go out into the public to listen, inform and answer relevant queries from affected communities.
