The Wellesley Park Playground Improvements are complete.
Thanks to all those that provided feedback on this project. Due to strong support for this design the area will be updated to a nature based playground with works to commence on Monday 29 May 2017.
During the works they playground will be fenced off to facilitate the safe renovation of the area. The path and remaining area will remain open.
The City is proposing a bushland style playground that uses natural features such as logs and boulders for Wellesley Park, South Hobart. Swings and a slide will be part of the playground, but will be set into the landscape.
The playground upgrade follows work on the oval surface, new lighting, refurbished public toilets and a new pavilion at Wellesley Park.
Work to the playground is due to start in 2017.
