The City of Hobart is seeking community submissions for inclusion in the 2024-25 annual budget. Your input will help inform the development of the budget by:
ensuring a diverse range of ideas are considered
resources are allocated in a way that benefit a broad cross section of the Hobart community
All community groups, businesses and individuals are welcome to make submissions to the City of Hobart 2024-25 Budget community consultation process.
How is the budget spent?
The budget strikes a balance between addressing financial challenges, prioritising existing services and infrastructure, and delivering a range of projects that will position the City as a thriving place to live, work, visit and invest. The budget snapshot 2023-24 provides a summary of how the 2023-24 budget was allocated and the types of services and projects.
What will happen with my submission?
All submissions will be assessed against the City's strategic priorities and considered in the context of the overall budget. While every submission will be considered, it may not be possible for all submissions to be included in the final 2024-25 Budget. This could be due to a number of factors, including:
inconsistency with the City’s priorities
the submission is outside the scope of services provided by the City
further work is required to develop the submission for it to be ready for consideration
further analysis on the proposed costs may be required
the proposal is beyond the financial capacity of the City
Any submissions not included in the 2024-25 Budget may be considered in future budgets.
