Thank you to those who participated in the Food Trucks Survey. We have collated your responses and you can read all about it in the Hobart Food Truck Program Review Engagement Report - February 2020.

The Hobart Food Trucks Program Guidelines and Permit Conditions were developed in late 2016 after extensive consultation with the community, local businesses and implementation of a 12-month trial.

These guidelines were developed to provide a framework within which the City of Hobart, local business and the community can enjoy the economic, social and cultural benefits of food trucks.

Through these guidelines, the City can ensure administrative and regulatory requirements are being met, whilst providing support to mobile food businesses. Under the guidelines, a permit system has been developed.

The City issues a permit to licensed food trucks which allows them to operate within the city limits under certain conditions including:

  • Prescribed trading locations

  • Prescribed trading times and durations

  • Health and safety standards

  • Community access

  • Noise

  • Waste

  • Other general permit conditions

For further details about these conditions, please view the Hobart Food Trucks Program Guidelines and Permit Conditions.

The Food Trucks Program is now three years old and we want to check in to see how you think the program is working. We are asking that you complete a survey to help us understand how the guidelines are meeting our community’s needs.
