McRobies Gully Waste Management Centre - Good Neighbour Agreement

Consultation has concluded

The City has developed a Good Neighbour Agreement, for the McRobies Gully Waste Management Centre and the South Hobart Community. The Agreement aims to replicate the processes of being good residential neighbours; things like keeping noise down, having properties looking neat & tidy, good open and honest communication, and looking out for each other.

When the City consulted the public and industry while developing the Waste Management Strategy 2015-2030 it was evident that the level of information the community had in regard to the centre was not as good as it could be. In seeking ways to address this, the idea of a ‘Good Neighbour Agreement’ was considered, and which the public was supportive of progressing.

This Agreement is about ensuring the City operates the Centre in a manner that minimises the local impacts such as noise, traffic, and environmental impacts, and providing an avenue for the local community to engage with the City and raise concerns, queries and solutions through a structured format.

The public engagement period for this project is now closed.
