Pop Up Exhibition

Thanks to everyone who came to the pop up exhibition in the vacant shop on the corner of Roope St and New Town Rd between Thursday 15 March and Saturday 17 March. Project Action Team Registration

We are seeking expressions of interest from community stakeholders to join the Project Action Team (PAT). The team will ideally be comprised of a balance of New Town community representatives including traders from along the street, residents and stakeholders from the local area.

Diverse groups work best, so we’re inviting people of different ages and life stages to get involved. Ideally we’d have about 20 people on the team.

The group will play a major role in shaping the direction of the project. Participants will determine the objectives of the project, evaluate a number of options and recommend a draft

What’s involved? We’ll provide you with information including reports and presentations from various experts. It will be interesting and important work - but it does require a commitment to attend some evening meetings in September and November and a Saturday workshop on 4 November 2017. Meetings will not be held during school holidays. Food and refreshments will be provided at the meetings and the City can cover some costs that may be a barrier to participation such as taxi fares and childcare. Please discuss this with us.

The City of Hobart is planning to improve the New Town Road local retail precinct to make it a more vibrant, inviting and accessible place for everyone to enjoy and take pride in.  The first step is to understand the aspirations and priorities of the community. To help us with this, we’d like to hear from people who live, work, study, run a business, visit or shop in
