Connected Hobart: Smart City Framework (Draft) and Action Plan (Draft)

The City hosted Connected Hobart: A Smart City Forum.

When - 5.30 pm - 7 pm, Wednesday 26 June 2019

Where - Hobart Town Hall, 50 Macquarie street

The forum provides the opportunity for community to learn more abut the City's draft Connected Hobart Framework and Action Plan and ask questions. The evening will consist of:

  • talks by guest speakers
  • demonstrations of smart city initiatives
  • public Q&A session.

Come along and get involved by providing your feedback on the draft Connected Hobart.


Connected Hobart is the City’s response to the current trends and future possibilities of Smart Cities. It comprises of a framework and action plan that will be used to guide local government innovation in Hobart into the future.

Smart Cities uses infrastructure to produce data that can improve services and other aspects of city life. The Connected Hobart program is a way of understanding how we will adapt to change, embrace new opportunities and channel the city’s evolution towards ever-more positive outcomes for Hobart communities.

The Connected Hobart program will provide a structured approach to urban management that uses data to inform decision-making.
